OJAI WEEKEND CELEBRATION

An intimate group of friends attended this 60th birthday weekend at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa’s Casa Elar Estate. The formal dinner kicked off under an early evening sky with a bartender mixing artisan cocktails from a white custom-upholstered bar, as canapés were offered poolside while guests enjoyed the views.  Dinner was served at a long table placed under an open canopy, draped with white woven fabric, accented with gold chain tie backs, and lit by gold chandeliers. Alternating chairs – white linen-back chameleons with gold legs and gold-framed white tweed dining chairs – were complemented by crisp white table linens. Place settings received a custom gold foil menu, gold high-sheen flatware, Riedel glassware, gold-rimmed Carrington china, and white hemstitch napkins in gold “geo” rings. The tablescape featured collections of Tiffany-blue polished ceramic vases, gold brocade votives, and white “dinner plate” dahlias. As the sun began to set, a nine-course tasting menu with fine wine pairings were enjoyed by all.  After dinner, guests were treated to libations in the library, a live performance by singer-songwriter Louise Goffin, and a DJ and dancing under the stars.
