You’ve chosen who’s standing up for you, but you have no idea what you want them to wear! No need to freak out….There are really no rules when determining what your bridesmaids should wear. It’s not a pageant- Your gals (and guys) are unique – each with their own personality, size and shape, right? Well, then why shouldn’t their attire be as well? Here are a few tips on how to best style your peeps … and keep them happy.
SEPARATES: Separates have taken over as the new look for the modern bridesmaid and could mean the end to “I’ll never wear that again!” … its not only a look I personally love but its easy for most to pull off. Whether it be a bandeau top and tulle skirt or a pencil skirt and silk tee. To give your girls a cohesive overall look, incorporate a similar color story for all or a common accessory.

ACCESSORIZE: And while we are on accessories, let your gals (and guys) do their own thing but supply them each an identical signature accessory like a metallic belt or a sick pair of stilettos in a designated pop color.

LET THEM SHINE: Who says your girls need to be understated? Dressing your leading ladies in metallics is a great way to make them shine. Whether you choose the same look for all or let them each rock a style that suits their stature, you can’t go wrong as there are endless combinations that will flatter all and photograph beautifully.

MIX-AND-MATCH: Who are you kidding? One-size-fits-all does not exist unless you’re describing a beanie. But if you want to more carefully curate the look, just pare down the options, giving your ladies a list of guidelines to follow (i.e. specific fabric, length and/or color/shade). And if you want to make it really easy on yourself and your gals, select a readily available mix-and-match collection, like Dessy or Amsale, which offer a wide variety of styles from their collection.

WHY NOT WHITE: There is nothing that says confidence like a bride who isn’t afraid of others wearing white on her wedding day. For a modern spin on bridal party attire, consider outfitting all in signature looks from a collection entirely featuring wedding whites. Uniform, contemporary and super chic, it will surely wow guests when sending your group down the aisle.

TAKE RISKS: Clean and simple is often a safe route to take, however, don’t be afraid to incorporate luxe details, exotic prints and rich textures. From tulle to tweed, sequins to beads, bold florals to mod geometrics…take risks and style with sophistication. This is the most important runway show of your life – don’t play it safe.
